Integrated office and Community Workplace have emerged as an important trend in recent years, as companies seek to foster communities by connecting various elements of their workplace.

Many companies, both local and foreign, have been experimenting with connected workplace as they seek to trigger more interactions between teams and employees, build mutual trust and good relationship among employees, accelerate the flow of information among people, encourage employees to solve problems creatively and be more productive, and nurture a sense of belonging to the company.

As a pioneer in the industry of office furniture, Lamex has officially launched the Neighborhood Communities & Workplace Solution – Longhouse.

Longhouse fuses personal and connected office to deliver a one-stop workplace and lifestyle venue that enables people to focus on work, do meetings, host product presentation and relax, thus creating a community that works for everyone.

Design Story: The Longhouse Community

Longhouse's design philosophy is inspired by indigenous longhouse dwelling architecture in China and Southeast Asia. In these houses, natives collaborate to solve life issues from farming to family matters and gradually become a culture. After surviving the elements and modernity’s encroachment for thousands of years, these long houses still exist today. The appeal of this traditional lifestyle, which emphasizes social relationships, connections and community values, is an inspiration for modern urban dwellers in search of new ways living.

As the name suggests, Longhouse is indeed a long house. Its engineering is a combination of aesthetics and functions. Longhouse’s steel-tube offers an adaptive post structure. Posts are inserted into each other to offer height and create surfaces. Longhouse elements such as shelter, screen, surface and structure exist at varying elevations beautifully, ideal for all manner of work.

A wellbeing neighborhood community, social spaces to connect and interact –Longhouse is ideal for individual or group work, allowing you to focus, collaborate, rest and recharge. Engagement and community satisfaction leads to more efficient use of time, balancing work, play and rest for a thriving and productive community.

Communities sharing the space will organically engender a larger community system, where habits, culture and emotions slowly evolve through the continuous sharing and interactive communication made possible by the connectivity throughout the workplace. Essentially, this ecosystem grows into an organizational culture that embodies the values of the company, and its ethos spontaneously emerges through love and conflict alleviation. The Longhouse provides a space for teams to cultivate their own team spirit and allow companies to build unique corporate culture and values.

Longhouse - Your Ideal Multi-Solution

Longhouses three components, Bench, Social Table and Pavilion.

Bench, is a personal space for focused work in our shared environment. It is designed to empower employees to focus on their personal work while still remaining closely connected with their colleagues and teams.

Social Table is where we can choose to stand or sit to share ideas, exchange knowledge, explore innovative collaborations, learning and teleconferencing.

The pavilion is at the center of the Longhouse’s social activities. Just like our favorite coffee shop or community dining room, it is where we come not only to enjoy a leisurely cup of coffee but to meet with teammates for a quick update about a project or to hold a casual meeting to guide work or discuss business strategies.

Longhouse is designed to fulfill the inherent needs of human beings. Physically, it delivers everything we need. As all elements are adjacent to each other, the Longhouse fosters a public experience that satiates our emotions by helping us better communicate and share happiness. A complete reinterpretation of modern office life, Longhouse creates new channels where we can strive to explore our physical needs, thirst for quality and capacity for innovation.
